Henry Thomas "Tommy" Wise

Henry Thomas “Tommy” Wise, 78, of Chula passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at his residence.

Tommy was born on October 2, 1946 in Turner County to the late James Ollie and Nettie Era Lamb Wise. He retired from Proctor and Gamble where he was employed as a technician. After his retirement he worked in construction for Jones Builders. He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tifton. Tommy enjoyed boating and fishing on the flats as well as riding motorcycles and playing golf. But more importantly, he was a family man. He loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 39 years, Betty Wise of Chula; sons, Michael S. (Char) Wise of Tifton and Michael E. (Lee Ann) Hancock of Tifton; brothers, Carl (Gina) Wise of Williamson and Ray (Brenda) Wise of Eastman; grandchildren, Matthew (Cady) Wise, Hannah Hancock, Luke Wise, Tanner Wise, Hope Hancock, Shelbi Wise and Zack Hancock; great-grandchild, Owen Wise. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Daniel Lamb, Tony Oliver, Donald Lunsford, Dalton Hancock, Dallas Hancock, Luke Wise, Tanner Wise, Jamie Hancock, Logan Priest and Edsal Schofill will serve as pallbearers. His Goddaughters, Allexus Jayde Stephens, Alaina Marie Stephens and Allyssa Sue Stephens will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lamar Wise, Mary Frances Whiddon, Bobby Wise, Lonnie Wise, Sylvia Wise, Donald Wise, Melba Satterfield and Patricia Lumpkin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Perry Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends Friday, December 20, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel.
