James Edison "Jimmy" Peacock

James Edison “Jimmy” Peacock, 85, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Perry Hospital in Perry, Georgia.

Jimmy was born on December 26, 1936 in Ashburn to the late Robert Watson and Josie Beard Peacock. He was a retired Probation Officer and also worked as a Georgia State Trooper earlier in his career. He served his country with honor in the United States Air Force and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Chula where he proudly served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.

He is survived by his daughter, Rebekah Peacock of Perry; sons, Jason (Kimberly) Peacock of Acworth and Greg Peacock of Tifton; step-daughter, Angela Goff of Mobile, Alabama; grandchildren, Kailey Peacock, Carter Peacock, Mallory Peacock, Olivia Peacock, Jamie Peacock and Tanner Goff.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Peacock, granddaughters, Christina Peacock and Britny Peacock and his sister, Jane Taylor.

While flowers will be accepted, for those who wish, please make memorial donations to Macedonia Baptist Church, any veterans programs or the donor's favorite charity.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Chula. The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church. Interment will be private.
