Jeanene Wynn Rainey

Jeanene Wynn Rainey, 78, of Sycamore passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025 at her residence.

Jeanene was born on September 11, 1946 in Tifton to the late Venton, Sr. and Effie Mae Nelson Wynn. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Jeanene was a Bookkeeper and Teller at Colony Bank for many years. She also served as the pianist at New Hope Baptist Church. Jeanene loved to sew and is fondly remembered for sewing pot holders. She was a part of the Sit and Sew and The Wiregrass Quilting Guild. In her younger years she loved to play basketball and in high school she earned the nickname Windy. She also enjoyed doing puzzles.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ronnie Rainey of Sycamore; daughters, Sherri Rainey of Sycamore and Katrina (Jamie) Godwin of Sycamore; sister, Jayne (Curt) Pylant of Sycamore; grandchildren, Rainey Godwin and Alyssa Godwin; great-grandchild, Maelee Ruth Hurst. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Venton “Bug” Wynn, Jr. and Wayne Wynn.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Bethel Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church.
