Jeanette Bobo Wise

Jeanette Ruth Bobo Wise, 81, of Ashburn passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, at

Forsyth Hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. A lifelong resident of Turner

County, Jeanette retired from the Ashburn post office where she initially joined as one

of the first female letter carriers in the state. Jeanette enjoyed gardening, visiting with

her family, playing cards with her friends and most of all enjoyed cooking for friends

and family whether they were hungry or not. In most recent years, she delighted in

spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

For 58 years, Jeanette was married to Bobby Wise and shared a passion for their

family and community. Jeanette and Bobby went on many camping and traveling

adventures and enjoyed motorcoach trips to places like Branson, MO, and Yellowstone

National Park. One of her most favorite trips was a cruise of the Hawaiian Islands with

friends and family.

Jeanette was a very smart, strong, stubborn, family loving woman who will be greatly

missed.

Jeanette is survived by daughter, Veronica (Bill) Jones of Jefferson, Georgia, son,

Rodney (Heather) Wise of Germanton, North Carolina, grandson Brandon (Laney)

Wise of Boone, North Carolina and granddaughter Erica (Jeffrey) Nicholson of Homer,

Georgia and great granddaughters Emma and Eleanor and brothers Clifford (Linda)

Bobo and Bobby (Betty) Bobo. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby

Wise, and her parents, Lois and Louis Bobo.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Perry

Funeral Chapel. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the

funeral home.
