Joan Scott

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, July 31st, 2022 at 2 PM at the H. M. Patterson Funeral Home, Arlington Chapel, located at 173 Allen Road, NE, Sandy Springs, Ga. A reception will follow the service at the Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Prospect Cemetery in Sycamore.

Ms. Scott is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Howard and Ila Runette Sutherland of Jacksonville, Fla. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Charles and Mallie Scott and grandson, Charles Rex Scott IV of Dunwoody, Ga., and cousin, Joyce Purvis of Tifton, Ga .

Ms. Scott was a devoted follower of Christ and spent years studying God’s word at Charis Bible College. She spent many years working in the jewelry industry earning her GIA Certification and she retired from the Cecil B. Day Company in 2017.

She enjoyed traveling, spending time at Disney with her family, playing tennis, crewing for Hot Air Balloon adventures and loving on her two rescue dogs, Bella and Micah.
