Lillie Mable Wright Scoggins

Lillie Mable Wright Scoggins, 101, of Ashburn passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Harborview in Tifton. 

Lillie was born in Turner County on May 10, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Isaiah Jesse and Edna Hathcock Wright. Lillie was a long-time member of Sycamore Baptist Church before joining Bethel Baptist Church where she held the title as the oldest member. She was a homemaker and avid historian. Lillie also enjoyed gardening,  sewing, and baking pecan pies.  She was fondly remembered for always sending a pecan pie home with family and friends after visits. 

Lillie is survived by her sons; James Edward (Vonna) Scoggins of Clermont, FL, Robert Leon (Sandra) Scoggins of Dudley, NC, and Melvin Thomas (Janice) Scoggins of Albany; daughters, Mildred Shepherd of Ashburn and Joyce Pauline (C.E.) Edmunds of Sylvester; daughter-in-law, Jane Shepherd Coleman;  11 grandchildren and a plethora of great and great-great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edward Scoggins and their siblings. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Church with a private interment. The family will greet friends from 5-7:00 PM on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Perry Funeral Chapel In Ashburn. 

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Bethel Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
