Louise Smith Cleghorn

Louise Smith Cleghorn, 89, of Ashburn passed away Monday, October 21, 2024 at her residence.

Louise was born on November 15, 1934 in Turner County to the late Julius Edward and Gladys Brown Smith. She was a homemaker. Louise was a faithful member of Rebecca Baptist Church. She was also a Sunday School Teacher and a G. A. leader. She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. She graciously shared her joy of cooking with her family. She meticulously kept a beautiful flower garden of multiple varieties. Louise was also a great seamstress and made heirloom dresses.

She is survived by her children, Elaine (Frank) Wilkerson of Ashburn, Glenn (Cindy) Cleghorn of Ashburn, Karen (Buddy) Snowden of Fitzgerald and Neil Cleghorn of Ashburn; sister, Joe Ann Carroll of Sanford, Florida; grandchildren, Jesse (Delanna) Snowden, Ben (Stephanie) Snowden, Rita (Ron) Mathis, Kaylee Cleghorn, Neelie Cleghorn, Shannon Cleghorn, Corey Cleghorn, Amber Bruner, Kyle (Katy) Wilkerson and Ryan (Diana) WIlkerson. She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Milton Cleghorn and her siblings, Bobby and Edward.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Perry Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until 10:30 AM Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
