Mary Lou McDonnell

Mary Lou McDonnell, 90, entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Magnolia Manor in Moultrie. She was born to the late William Derse’ and Madge Armstrong Derse’ in Detroit, Michigan on May 14, 1932. 

 Preceded in death by her husband, Owens Hamilton McDonnell, one son James Gerald McLucas, and one grandson, Russell James Fay. 

Together Mary and O.H. blended their families of seven children. Survivors include John (Carol) McLucas, Scottsdale, AZ, Diane (Carl) LaRue, Cambridge, OH, Nancy (Lance) Keithley, Walnut Shade, MO, Patty (Joe) Parrish, Tifton, GA, Geraldine (Paul) Fay, Cordele, GA, Marney (Gary) Jenkins, Moultrie, GA. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mary Lou had a colorful life and was a health nut. She loved her family and friends and was very outgoing. She never met a stranger and greeted each day with a positive attitude. She always had a smile on her face but would be quick to correct you if you needed it. 

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn, GA at 10:30 AM.
