Michael Lynn Beard

Michael Lynn Beard, 68, of Sycamore, GA passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA.

Mike was born on November 1, 1953 to the late John L. Beard and Pauline (Wood) Beard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and after serving his country, he worked as a mechanic at Ewing Buick in Ashburn for many years as well as for the State of Georgia. Mike loved to play the guitar and enjoyed making music. He won various music awards over the years and played on the “Ernest Tubb Jamboree” in Nashville, TN. Mike also enjoyed yard work and planting a garden. He was also a member of Bethel Baptist Church for many years.

He is survived by his mother, Pauline Beard of Ashburn; son, Chris (Jamie Day) Beard of Fitzgerald, and his daughter, Randi Lin (Jake) Gibbs of Fitzgerald; brothers, Ben Beard and Dan Beard, both of Ashburn. He was also survived by his 3 grandchildren, Roxi, Jerzi, and Jaxton Gibbs, of Fitzgerald. 

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Breezli Gibbs. 

The family will greet friends at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn on Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
