Myra Jo Craig Hester

Myra Jo Craig Hester, 82, of Ashburn passed away Friday, July 5, 2024 Wedgewood HealthCare Center in Lakeland Florida.

Myra was born on January 17, 1942 in Orlando, Florida to the late Raymond Hayden and Lula Elizabeth Reynolds Craig. She was a store manager and worked for the Pack-N-Sack Company. She was also the kitchen manager at the Turner County Jail for many years. Myra loved animals of all types and was always taking in strays. She had a great love for people who always saw the good in everyone, and was always willing to help those in need. Myra loved her family greatly, especially her grandchildren. In her younger years, Myra enjoyed playing softball. She was also a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Danny) Hinkley of Lakeland, Florida; son, Andy (Tia) Hester of Ashburn; and step-children, Beverly (Johnny) Austin, Tammy Stennett and Allen Hester.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Stephen Hester; step-son, Greg Hester; and brothers, Kenneth Craig and Jeron Craig.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Bethel Baptist Church. Interment will be private. The family will greet friends from 10:00 AM until the hour of services Thursday, July 11 at Bethel Baptist Church in Sycamore.
