Oliver Clinton Brown, 92, of Sycamore passed away Monday, July 1, 2024 at his residence.
Clinton was born in Turner County on February 13, 1932 to the late Ollie Jefferson and Mano Hale Brown. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Clinton was a farmer. He especially loved to grow watermelons. Farming was much more to him than a job; it was his hobby and his life. He dedicated many years to planting and watching his crops grow. Clinton loved his family and spending time with them, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was well-respected in the community that he called home his entire life. Clinton was a frequent patron of Charles Seafood in Tifton where he was always treated like family.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Emma Brown of Sycamore; daughters, Karen (Alan) Lunsford of Hawkinsville and Pat (Angel) Olivas of Ashburn; son, Jeff (Kathi) Brown of Sycamore; sister, Grace Myers of Sycamore; grandchildren, David (Lacey) Lunsford, Jason (Kathryn) Lunsford, Hunter Norman, Hayden Norman, Allison (Justin) Vaughan, Alyssa Brown, Tyler Olivas and Jade Olivas; great-grandchildren, Mason Lunsford, Brayden Lunsford, Brynlee Lunsford, Nora Lunsford, Nolan Lunsford, Jay Vaughan, John Michael Wynn, Avery Vaughan and Willow Olivas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Cortez Milam, Runette Brown and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 5, 2024 at Perry Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Perry Funeral Chapel.
