Ray Eric Black, 64, of Pearson passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025.
Ray was born in Ashburn on May 15, 1960 to the late Edward Ray Black and Marilyn Cleo Scott Black. He was a Truck Driver with Cypress Truck Line. He also served his country with honor in the United States Army. Ray was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He also loved Georgia Bulldog football. Ray enjoyed motorcycles, especially Harley-Davidson. Above all, Ray was a family man who made sure his kids and grandchildren were taken care of.
He is survived by his daughter, Crystal (Josh Stringer) Black of Pearson; son, Rocky (Kelly) Black of Pearson; mother, Marilyn Black of Ashburn; brother, Todd (Dawn) Black of Ashburn; sister, Jody (Billy) Jones of Albany; grandchildren, Cheyenne Odom, Christy Steele, Cole Steele, Desirea Thigpen, Jayden Taft, Tyler String, Kennedi Stringer and Emri Jo Stringer; great-grandchild, Paisley Waldron. He also loved his pet, Gizmo.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Black.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Perry Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends Friday, February 21, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel.
