Shirley Ivemeyer Crawford, 86, of Rebecca passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022 at her residence.

 

Shirley was born in Fitzgerald to the late John and Eva Adams Ivemeyer. She was a member of Rebecca United Methodist Church and was a member of the Lillian Gilmore Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women. Shirley loved to play cards but loved winning even more. In her own words, she liked to laugh, talk and giggle. She was a member of the Rebecca Arts and Crafts Club, The Birthday Girls and the Spend the Day Club. She also enjoyed attending gospel sings. She served the community of Rebecca as city clerk as well as on the city council and as mayor pro-tem. She also served on the Board of Directors for Community National Bank. Along with her husband she created and built Crawford Cattle Company that is still operated by her family today.

 

She is survived by her sons, Phillip (Melissa) Crawford of Rebecca and Scott (Deanna) Crawford of Spring Hill, Florida; grandchildren, Erica (Zachary) Hasty, Tanner (Kylie) Crawford, Chandler Crawford, Tyler Crawford and Ella Grace Crawford; great-grandchildren, Charlie Hasty, Emily Hasty and Paisley Hasty; beloved nephew and niece, John (Tina) Ivemeyer and Joy Ivemeyer; God Children, Shirley Dawn Gibbs and Ronnie Waters; devoted caregivers, Mary West, Carrie Ellington, Elge Williams, Juanita Sanders and Jean Buchannan. She is also survived by a host of other family and friends.

 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Rebecca United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
