Shirley Faye Young Hickman

Shirley Faye Young Hickman, 82, of Hawkinsville passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Pinewood Manor in Hawkinsville.

Shirley was born on January 21, 1941 in Ocilla to the late Loyless Young and Lucy Faulk Merritt. She was a retired receptionist and a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Hawkinsville. She loved to visit the beach and to work in her yard.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Becky (Tony Green) Land of Jacksonville, Florida; son, Jim (Melissa Derington) Farmer of Hawkinsville; brother, Al Young of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Danielle Land, Courtney (Reggie McDonald) Land and Brooke Farmer; great-grandchildren, L. J. McNair and Kylan McDonald.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Marcia Powell.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Perry Funeral Chapel. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
