Virginia Williford Wilkerson

Virginia Williford Wilkerson, 94, of Rebecca passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at her residence in Rebecca, GA. 

The daughter of the late Kate and Benjamin Williford, she was born on January 22, 1929 in Crisp County, GA. Mrs. Wilkerson was a homemaker and proud farmer’s wife for many years. She loved working in her flowers, painting and square dancing. Canning vegetables was also a favorite pastime of hers. She had a love for animals and loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wilkerson was a long-time member of Rebecca Baptist Church. 

Virginia is survived by her sons, Frank (Elaine) Wilkerson of Ashburn and Wayne Wilkerson of Rebecca; daughters Diann W. Howard of Rebecca, Delores W. (Johnny) Helms of Rebecca, and Lynn W. (Carl) Ireland of Locust Grove; sister, Dot Jackson of Cordele; sisters-in-law, Marie McKay of Marietta, Lillie Bell Stanford of Tifton, Nita Williford of Hiawasee, and Helen Williford of Jasper Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Oscar Wilkerson; daughter, Janice W. Adkins; and brothers Buford Williford, Skeet Williford, Ben Williford, and Shorty Williford. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 2:00PM at Rebecca Baptist Church with interment to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Rebecca Baptist Church.
