Wynelle Fitzgerald Lewis

Wynelle Fitzgerald Lewis, 77, of Sycamore passed away Friday, April 7, 2023 at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton.

Wynelle was born on November 20, 1945 in Dooly County to the late Willie and Helen Johns Fitzgerald. She was a faithful member of the Tift Avenue Church of God where she taught Sunday School for 47 years. Wynelle loved to read her Bible. She was also the owner of a home daycare for many years. Wynelle loved her family but especially her grandchildren. She was also known for spending hours on the phone talking to her many friends. Wynelle’s hobbies included sewing and playing the piano.

She is survived by her sons, Dwane (Kippy) Lewis of Ashburn and Danny (Catherine) Lewis of Sycamore; grandchildren, Olivia (Jake) Fountain, Lacey (Johnny) Brown; Catherine (James) Barnes, Christopher Lewis, Rusty Roberts and Kaylie Roberts; great-grandchildren, Rosalie Jo Fountain, James Barnes, Jr. and Sarah Ruth Barnes; nephew, Steve (Shelley) Bowen. She is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Dwain Lewis.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Perry Funeral Chapel. Interment will be private. The family will greet friends from 12:30 PM until the hour of services at Perry Funeral Chapel.
